The Porto Moniz council should be congratulated. It has managed to place two villages of the council as candidates for seven wonders in the categories they had been placed in. Thus, as a “sea village”, Porto Moniz was placed amongst the 49 pre-finalists, and the same happened with Chão da Ribeira, in Seixal, as a village within a protected area.
The Northern council therefore has plenty of reasons to celebrate – the last step is to make the list of the seven most beautiful on each of the categories!
