O espólio da Biblioteca Municipal do Funchal terá mais 40 obras para mostrar. Não, não são livros, mas trabalhos artísticos escolhidos pelos seus autores para o Concurso de Intervenção Artística da Penha d’Águia, iniciativa levou à mudança de imagem do conhecido grupo empresarial madeirense. Desde logo acarinhado pela autarquia e pela Universidade da Madeira, o evento passou pelo edifício dos Paços do Concelho, onde mais de 2000 pessoas puderam apreciar os cartazes, imagens e projectos.
A marca, que nos habituou a montras suculentas e apetitosas, doou este espólio à Biblioteca e ao Arquivo Municipal do Funchal, disponibilizando-se, desta forma, novos conteúdos visuais, para memória futura, e a sua conservação e valorização, enquanto forma de estudo e divulgação de iniciativas culturais e de jovens artistas, em especial madeirenses.
O Júri do Concurso, formado por representantes das instituições parceiras, atribuiu unanimemente o “Prémio Aquisição” à artista plástica Analice Campos, ex-aluna da Universidade do Porto e da Universidade do Minho, e uma Menção Honrosa ao madeirense Luís Freitas, estudante da Universidade da Madeira, que frequenta actualmente a Licenciatura de Arte e Multimédia.
A doação destes trabalhos artísticos vem reforça as sinergias e mecanismos de cooperação entre o Grupo Penha d’Águia e a Câmara Municipal do Funchal.
