Idalina Perestrelo, vereadora com o pelouro do Ambiente na Câmara Municipal do Funchal, acompanhou as filmagens, do que considerou “uma oportunidade de luxo para promover o Funchal, enquanto destino privilegiado de Turismo Desportivo.” Estas foram as palavras de Idalina Perestrelo, vereadora com o pelouro do Ambiente da Câmara Municipal do Funchal, depois de ter assistido, esta semana, às gravações do documentário “Gamble”, protagonizado pelo francês Loic Bruni, Bicampeão do Mundo de Downhill e atleta oficial da Redbull Specialized Bikes e Foxmtb.
A autarca, que tutela o Parque Ecológico do Funchal, que recebe cerca de 7 mil praticantes anualmente para praticar BTT, enalteceu “que este é cada vez mais um palco muito procurado para um vasto leque de atividades turístico-desportivas de Natureza, entre percursos pedestres, percursos de BTT, lançamento de parapente e asa delta, corrida de montanha e trail, estando já no mapa de algumas provas internacionais a esse nível, como o MIUT e ECOtrail”.
A Vereadora destacou as óptimas condições do Parque Ecológico do Funchal para este efeito, que a autarquia tem procurado melhorar progressivamente ao longo dos últimos anos.
O documentário “Gamble”, protagonizado pelo francês Loic Bruni, Bicampeão do Mundo de Downhill e atleta oficial da Redbull Specialized Bikes e Foxmtb, é um projeto à escala global, que será disponibilizado na plataforma iTunes em abril de 2018, e cuja estimativa de alcance ascende a 800 milhões de visualizações, tendo contado com o apoio da Câmara Municipal do Funchal. A película tem por objetivo mostrar alguns dos melhores locais do mundo para a prática de Downhill e junta o Funchal a cidades na Nova Zelândia, Argentina, Itália e Canadá.
