Teatro Municipal Baltasar Dias (TMBD) receives this weekend two Portuguese plays, in partnership with Teatro D Maria ii: tomorrow, Friday, at 21h00, has the debut of the Greek tragedy Ififgeina, while on Sunday there’s the youth production “A Origem das Especies (The Origin of Species).

But this isn’t all what’s going on in the theatre this weekend. There are other events, like the reopening of the Prima Donna dressing room, in homage to Eunice Muñoz, on Friday at 19h00, while on Sunday there’ll be the signature of the protocol linking the Teatro Nacional D Maria II and the Funchal council. The signature, to take place at 17h00, will have the presence of the Funcal mayor, Paulo Cafofo.

On Saturday 4th, staring at 15h00, in the theatre foyer, there’s to be a conversation between actors of the Teatro Nacional D Maria II and local actors. The play that closes this weekend (The Origin of Species) is based on the text by Charles Darwin. Relying on a solid multimedia support, it proposes taking spectators on a big adventure into the life of the planet.

Tickets for both shows are still on sale at the Teatro ticket booth, and costs 5 euro.
