The Madeira whaling museum will present, coming February 20th, at 16h00, the new image of its merchandising shop.
Placed in a new area within the museum, the shop is a pleasant space where one can find exclusive products with its own designs and brands, with the profits generated contributing to the conservation and study of whales and dolphins of the archipelago.
The name of the shop, ALAMAR, is an expression used by locals connected to the fishing industry, when referring to the notion of being some distance away from the coast. In this specific case, the expression comes from an interview conducted with an ancient whaler, Mr Manuel Moreira, by the present director of the museum, Ana Nóbrega.
